But i stopped because it was a really stupid way to handle things. There are way too many topics today about self-mutilation, if you don't stop hurting yourself now then you'll have to wait until you're in your 20's and realize how stupid it was to start with, plus all the scars you could have avoided having..


profuse cutters, go ahead and flame me for "lacking any knowledge on what you're going through", etc., as if my mom's death when I was 14 isn't a good enough experience.

i think that they have to realize that, hit some sort of bottom.
its hard to stop, but its possible.
i dont know if i'm stopped forever.. but i'm sure as hell stopped for at least today. i dont want any more scars. i'm self conscious enough of the ones i have.

But i'm sorry about your mum.
I think everyone gains perspective when they've stopped, but while you're still caught up in that whirlwind of emotion etc, it's hard to see clearly so be kind.

Just for the record, my scars don't bother me. I'm not ashamed of them at all. In a way, they remind me that I'm alive today, and have made it through a lot of tough times.

You obviously just read my post...
And you're right, death is an arguable reason to take your pain out on yourself. Unlike you though, I don't feel the need to list my reasons.

to be honest I didn't give a fuck about my mom, but i wanted to avoid the posts saying "don't judge us for what you don't understand" so i had to at least list one thing I used to cut for.
i'm glad you think of them as a reason you're alive instead of being ashamed of them.

I used to cut myself, unfortunately people in school noticed the big cuts on my wrists and I gathered too much attention and all negative, not help but more so that I was attention seeking, that convinced me to stop.
