Say you were moving out of state, and you wanted to rent an apartment there. How would you go about doing it?
Do you stay in a hotel and go to an apartment duplex? Can you start moving in the day you choose one?
Sorry if this doesn't exactly make sense, but I need to know.

Look on websites for appartments in that state up for sale and just browse through, it would be cheaper staying where you are while buying one than paying for a hotel while looking for one, because it can take a while to find an appartment.

go to front desk.. "i would like to rent an apartment".. you select which one and are told the rent fee, and they hand you the key saying "rent due at end of month".

You go to the main office and tell them you're interested in renting a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment. They will show you their layouts, then go over your income. They like you to make almost double of the price they're asking for every month.
Then they will check your credit and all that good stuff, which cost money. Then you might be charged for a holding free. A lot of charges can be included, so make sure you bring some money with you in case you want to get one that day.
Make sure you read the lease well.

You should look them up first and see if you can get photos of them if you can't go in person to see the different ones. Then make your choice with what you can afford and is an okay size for you.
