does anyone know if you can be admitted on academic probation? my bf is half a semester short for his school's requirements and right now he is admitted but he's worried that when they receive his official transcript they might reject him.
i'm sure it varies from school to school but any information would be helpful.

There might be a conditional acceptance if he'll go back and finish; otherwise the acceptance could be withdrawn (or not, many colleges require education only through grade eight)

Well, that will most likely show up on your end of your transcripts/ paperwork etc... Most colleges, even after you have been accepted, ask for your end of year info so that they know you are going to graduate etc... Depending on the college, info like failing grades or academic probation could cause them to rescind your acceptance. When I was a senior i high school I got a D in my Calc class. I asked my guidance counselor if that would impact my acceptance to the college I was going to. Because the college I was going to was really big and they had a lot of applicants it didn't really matter. But your college is more selective, then you might have an issue. I would call the college or have your guidance counselor see if there is anything you could do to make sure you won't get rescinded.

There are schools that accept students but place them on academic probation, and establish a clear series of standards they need to meet if they wish to remain enrolled. However, it would more often be the case that a school would, particularly if it a stronger institution, reject him, as there are more applicants than spots virtually everywhere in the country.
