I'm in the middle of filling out college applications for this fall, and I am not at all happy.

I have no idea what I want to major in. I have no idea where I want to go to college. I have no idea what colleges would actually be a good match for me.

I know that the decision of what college I go to will effect me for the rest of my life. And quite frankly, that scares me a hellofalot.

What if I pick a college with a good science program, and it turns out I want to major in English? What if I hate the college I pick, and the one right next to it on the list, I would have loved?

Gah.

Distance from home, and campus life.

I don't care if the college I want is the most prestigious, because when it comes to a job, after those first few all employers care about is history instead of who gave you your diploma.

I've looked through a lot of those sites.

The problem is that I don't really know what I want.

The lack of snow, was a major factor.
Also how close my Grandparents live from the college (4 miles).
And the fact I wasn't planning on staying in Wisconsin.

Princeton Review, and Student's Review.

And a ton of other college review type websites.

I'm not bitching, I'm trying to make an informed decision.

money, getting accepted, good school etc.

to be honest, I put all the names of the colleges face down on my bed and picked one. I dont recommend that way.

I'm down to about the final 8 right now.

I'm not looking forward to making this decision either.
