hah, you sound EXACTLY like i did a year ago. i used the princeton review and in the end it didn't help me that much. i got a lot of books from the library and that helped only slightly.

in the end, i chose a college mostly based on geography (and the culture of the area). look into colleges that don't limit their classes to one certain area of study (so you can change your mind).

try to do some soul searching! make a list of things that interest you! you probably already have, but talk to friends and family. make a list of 5-10 colleges that sound vaguely interesting and then research them in depth. visit campuses, if you can. that'll give you a great sense of the college.

Talk to your school counselor. See if he/she has a general catalog for the schools you're interested in.

For me, I had to consider my major, the distance, size and tuition/fees. A good football team and school spirit is a plus because I'm very concerned with getting the complete college experience. ;]

In my case, it was easy.  A good school, far away from my parents, I loved the atmosphere when I had gone to visit it...

Maybe there's another school out there that I would love more... who knows... but it's not as definite as you are making it.  If you keep your grades up and stay involved, then transferring won't be all that difficult.  And you know what... if you don't know what you want to do now, maybe a year or two will help clear that up.  There are MANY paths to take in life.  Would it have been easier to know right from the start?  Of course... but sometimes we have to take a slightly longer path to know whether or not this is the one we want to take :).
