You should let them choose what they want to believe, rather than influencing them with your views.
So if they want to believe that pedophilia is acceptable, that injecting heroin is a good way to avoid unpleasant emotions and that walking into a busy road without looking is not dangerous - you shouldn't try and influence them at all?
What the hell do drugs and walking into a busy street have to do with religion? That involves common sense, not religious beliefs.
I have met people who believe that pedophilia is an acceptable behavior. I have also met other people who think heroin is not dangerous and who deeply resent being socially ostracised for using it. But the comparison is not about how these beliefs come about (religion, common sense, science, misleading newspaper articles, stupidity, whatever) but whether parents have a right to affirm the truth as best they know how to their children. I picked those ideas specifically because I think the vast majority of people would agree they are wrong ideas. Now put yourself in the shoes of someone who believes rejecting some religious idea is equally wrong to all those ideas. Do you really think its wrong for them to teach what they think is the truth to their children? That it is wrong for them to warn their children off from dangers they believe are all too real? To teach their children about the things that they love and find meaningful in their life?

I don't know if it's right or wrong, but much of the time it seems to be unwise. Out of all my peers, those of us who have grown up in strict Catholic households seem to be more rebellious, and faithless, than those who have grown up in not-so-religious households.

I think it's wrong to force all your beliefs on a child. They are impressionable.

it's not wrong... but it's wrong to teach them lies as truth.
Oh quit. There is no way to know who's right, so just stop.
Actually, science disproves most of religion. That, and common sense.
Please, show me this proof of disproof.

God is Imaginary? How old is the person that created this website? I read one "proof" and decided it's not worth my time. I believe what I believe, you believe what you believe, and there's no changing that. We could go in circles all day.

Not wanting to get in the middle of this...but how can you expect to be taken seriously if you won't bother yourself to know what the opposition is saying? I mean, how can you defend yourself and your beliefs, if you don't know what you're defending against?
