And it's exactly why they have statutory rape laws. Because at 14, kids think about dating 22 year olds because they make them feel special. Of course, I don't think your intentions are wrong, but there are probably many pedophiles that can easily pull of this stunt. Either way, it's not worth it. Your talking about 4 years where you can't do anything sexual with the female, otherwise you put youself at risk for statutory rape. Not to mention that the girl will probably find that people look at her badly because of the age difference. Neither of you will have a normal dating life, because even going out in public my draw bad looks. Of course, what others think has never been anything to me... however, a 14 and 22 year old are at two different stages in life. What do you plan on doing? Do you want children, do you want to get married? Do you plan on waiting for her to finish school (and college) before any of that stuff? How old will you be? What about when she grows up more and she starts changing (because at that age, you're still developing who you are and who you want to be). You can't go out drinking with friends, she can't drive any place to meet up with you, she has no money to be able to do things with you... You can't go to a club or other parties (if that's the kind of thing you're interested in). Ultimately, she will find other guys, and you will find other girls. If you really like her, then in 4 years, then you can come back and see if you still want to be together. Otherwise, there's no point in either of you committing yourselves to a relationship that can so easily cause more harm than good. It's not only a matter of maturity, but it's a matter of fact that at those ages, you are at two completely stages in your life. Ultimately, you might end up hurting the girl more. If her parents know, it'll most likely be, "you cannot see this boy or talk to him ever again". Then she'll hate her parents, and feel confined. She may try to run away.. who knows. Her parents may lose their trust in her all together in terms of who she talks to. You may be free of this, but she isn't. Think about it again. Will either of you really benefit from this?
