Since when was straitedge bad?

I have respect for people with that much self control.

My friend was being all bitchy because one of my guy friends said (while he was drunk) that he would never go out with her because she was straitedge.

She wasnt upset he wouldnt go out with her, she was mad he called her straitedge (and shes like the definition of it). I just dont get what the problem is.

I've found 13 year olds are saying and doing things that when I was that age most of us didn't even know what half of the shit out there meant. I never heard of any other 13 year old saying straightedge when I was that age. Kids are doing too much shit too early.

Of the straight edge people I know they tend to be really intolerant of people that go against their beliefs. I've heard of some of them jumping kids just because they do drink or do drugs.

That's not necessarily everywhere though, just a personal account.

Perhaps what the girls were talking about was not that the girl abstains from cigarettes, sex, drugs and alcohol but that she was part of this "straight-edge" subculture of people who go around bragging about how pure they are and how they are better than everyone else? I hate people like that, too.
