So if you want all nudity banned why do you still have that weird double-penetration 'art' in your IB

That people have gotten angry about utilizing images which were permissible at the time which by most measures are considered part of high culture is worthy of a chuckle. Was the way in which they made their point skewed toward the childish? Certainly. Were the images utilized pornographic or vulgar to the point of being inherently offensive? No, as has been pointed our, such images are the types one would see if one had a particularly artistic or culturally oriented person arranging field trips. The only apology that might be warranted is to moderators for violating the Veil of Shadows surrounding the mod forum to extend a debate to LiveWire proper to make a point. You shouldn't feel obligated to make such an extensive apology here. Quote: from Forever Angel at 4:13 pm on Aug. 21, 2008

Were people really that offended? I didn't think it was that big of a deal; just another one of those LW things.
The real offensive part is that these Mods couldn't wait for the rules to be clarified. Or didn't like the way clarification was headed. So now the rules are not only clear, but total. No nudity, period. Or near nudity (as in underwear) or even bikinis not on the beach, period. So even 'art' is banned, now.
Ah, blessed and unassailable consistency.

In my opinion, the pictures weren't that bad besides audrey's. They were are artistic in nature, and nowhere near obscene. Audrey's was just kind of... realistic. It was the trolling the forums that had me slightly irritated. I saw topics derailed by mods joking around about this. Insofar as losing respect for you, I haven't. I have looked up to you as a very intelligent human being ever since I started posting here, and this one incident doesn't take away from that. Post edited at 1:29 pm on Aug. 21, 2008 by wOlF

I find it troubling that you think L'Origine du monde is 'bad,' I recognized that to be an oil painting as soon as I saw it because people who are cultured have seen that portrait before.
just because it is art, and recognized as such, does not mean I enjoy an eyeful of pubes.

Just because I haven't seen a particular painting before doesn't mean that I am not cultured, so please don't insult my intelligence or give me your take on what I know about the world. And at a small low quality JPG version, it is very hard to distinguish due to how well done and detailed it was, whether or not it was a picture or a painting. That confused many members who thought it was a photo, when they were trying to upload similar thing. That is why it was bad. Not because it was "icky." So with all due respect, shut the fuck up. I really didn't think it was all that bad. Audrey's were...a little graphic, but I don't see the huge deal with you posting simple artistic pictures on-line. No, what bothered me was the fact that you joked about it a little too much, like you were shoving it in the members faces that you have the power to do such a thing and we don't. That was a bit annoying. But I never lost respect for you. Ever.
