So if I take a pic of myself at the beach in a man bikini, that's fine?

This announcement is in line with LiveWire's existing policies on nudity. Thank you big head for the announcement.
Wow. Good thing you dropped by to clarify the policy. Crisis averted.
The lack of consultation 'crisis' is still yet to be addressed...
I don't see why that's an issue at all.
I take it you haven't heard about the recent uproar about the Australian Intervention? If any means of authority makes a decision without consulting the people it affects, you guarantee that those people will be unhappy and probably very angry. If you offer them an opportunity to give recommendations, then even if things don't go their way, they can't complain that their opinions weren't considered. The whole point of a democratic society is for people to be able to offer their input to and have some level of control over relevant levels of authority, and since LiveWire is based on democratic principles, it should be no exception.
You're just not happy you can't post some images because of the rules.
Quit with the unsupported accusations and re-read (or just read) my posts. I'm unhappy because there was no consultation, just action. I would have liked to have had the opportunity to offer my opinion before the decision was made, and judging by the other posts in this topic, other members would have liked to as well.
I'd also like to note that you're the only member that's voiced serious opposition.

Even if I was the only member who opposed the decision, it doesn't mean you can simply ignore me. The fact is that nobody but the moderators were offered an opportunity to give input on this issue, and refusing that opportunity is worse than knowing that people oppose a decision and choosing to ignore them.
So things aren't likely to change just because you're not pleased that you can't use your image basket as free advertising.
Again with the accusations. How is my image basket advertising anything? I've already stated why I think the removal of >2 year old images with no given reason was unfair, and it had no hint of advertising. Post edited at 11:40 pm on Aug. 21, 2008 by Brookie Chookie23

I say we either allow swimwear pictures or we don't.
That's been there a long time, it's just clarification. It's to prevent people posing in their bikinis in their bedrooms and such.
That may be true, but my point still stands; I don't see how a bikini picture taken in a bedroom is any more offensive than a bikini picture taken at poolside. Sure, the positions of the subject make an awfully big difference, but it's not like innocent bikini pictures can't be taken in a bedroom.
