I  bought a couple college tees at my school to wear.  Oh noes!  I'ma be a clone, lookin' like all these other gees up in dis here school!!!!  Someone help me, quick, I'm fallin' into a mainstream because I'm buying somethin' everyone else is!!!!

... Honestly, why can't someone actually LIKE a certain brand or music group without being considered "mainstream" or a "tool" ?  Why can't the person honestly just like something?  Why can't I go shop at hollister or hot topic or pac sun without being called a clone?  Maybe I like the shirt?  I mean, if I have the money to spend on it, what's so bad with that?  Or if I listen to coldplay or fall out boy, I MUST only like it because MTV says I should, I mean, no one could possibly like it because they like the lyrics or the way the music sounds, they ONLY like it because someone told them to.

again

okay, well my rant is over.

Every now and then there are cases like you, but the overwhelming majority fall into the "everyone else has/likes this, so I probably should as welL" approach.

Well most people who talk shit about brands cannot afford them.
So they resort to jealousy and insults.

Because mainstream is a mold to fit in with everyone else.

Rammstein and KMFDM are not mainstream. ^_^

I hate metal, and I know who Rammstein is. I've even heard multiple songs by them, and could list a few.

That makes them pretty main-stream, in my opinion.

i can relate to everything youve said, people should be able to wear what they want and listen to what they want without being called names.
