and i have a male dog who is acting werid by protecting her and stuff, and just isnt being himself, will he be changed back to normal when she's not in heat?

Yes, it is normal. But they should be kept apart if he is not neutered.
A neutered male will often still act 'strange' around a female in heat.

If he isn't neutered, he'll probably try to breed with her. Get your dog spayed in about a month after her heat cycle is finish so you don't have any unwanted puppies.
