i started birth control on tuesday this week, is it safe to have sex without a condom and not have to worry about pregnancy yet?

No. You're best bet is to wait until you've gone through one pack to make sure the hormones are well into your system. A couple days isn't really a safe bet.

My friend thought the same thing. He and his girlfriend started having sex without a condom. "She's on the pill; what's the worry?"

so many of my friends have been on it though, and dont use condoms, and theyve never had a problem with pregnancy

sorry if i sound stupid lol, just asking questions before i go and make mistakes

no. you need to wait FOUR full weeks to even be CLOSe to being 99.9% safe. you can still get pregnant, and get std's when you don't use a condom, too. it takes over a MONTH for it to start working, so only being on it for 2 days isn't enough. and quite frankly, that's a stupid question. it's like the people that plug their ipods in for 2 second and then unplug it and wonder why there's no music on it. you're not responsible enough to be on it. talk to your gyn/doctor. you obviously need to babysat with it.
