Here is my situation I have a 2.6 left over from a rather poor preformence throughout Freshman year but I've preformed decent in my studies since, in addition I will have three AP classes under my belt. In terms of EC'S I will have to put on my application the Cambridge College Programme, in which I did exceedingly well as I made all A's in my classes as well as getting the de facto recommendations of two Cambridge Professors who are fairly high profile in the sense of them being accomplished academics as well as to having wrote some books as well, also in terms of EC I will have debate to put on there in addition to Cambridge. Also I have written and have had published some History articles on community based history websites. Lastly I also preform well in interviews.

So with all of this do you think I could get into a top college or university?

3 AP classes isn't a lot either. Most people going to top schools will have 10+ AP courses.

What's your test scores? That counts for something too.

It depends. If you show significant improvement over the years on your transcript, then your freshman GPA probably won't be as important.

I do my Freshman GPA was 0.66, some of it was my fault some of it was the fault of others. However it has shown significant improvement over the years.

My Test scores is on the ACT I fared rather poorly but that was because they didn't give me my extended time accommodation if I had, had that though I could have gotten a 25-29 on it or maybe beyond that.

Colleges aren't going to think about whether it was someone else's fault or not; you have to be responsible for your own actions, no excuses. I also agree with the other person who posted but if your cumulative GPA is a 2.6 then I'm sure you've had a lot of improvement.

Did you take the SAT?

Seriously, they're not going to pick you over hundreds of perfect 4.0s and perfect SAT/ACT scores; because even those give you less than a 10% chance to getting in to any one of the top universities.

um... add in that low test score, your chances are pretty low.

And, well, what about those schools that don't offer AP courses? Our school had 3 when I was a student.

And, a 2.6 or higher, in my school, was fantastic.
