In exchange for material riches and a new era for those that follow, the enslaved sacrificed every piece of dignity and valor associated with simply being human. They lost culture, language, people and not even the joy of a peaceful death was given to them. To glorify the fact that their ancestors have taken the rewards only after much revolution is too much of a burden to realistically bear. Nothing was ever given to these people. Not even fundamentally obvious function that is human right.  

They had to fight for it in America. And muted success that came largely as a result of their efforts shouldn't be attributed to the glory of those that brought upon the effort in the first place.

I DO know that the negroes had the highest sexual drive, the mongols had the lowest, and caucasians were in the middle, I just think, if I remember correctly, that it was testosterone levels.

The OP is comparing Africans living in America with those living in Africa.  To fully appreciate the standard of living in Africa which the OP uses as a ruler to compare and contrast the living conditions of African Americans, one should look at the history of Africa and realize that the continent is so backwards today precisely because of European interference and domination.

As for the OP, the living conditions of Africans in the US is in spite of the intentions of white slave owners.

Paradoxically, it could be argued that America is great today because of the free labor that Africans provided.  So really, African Americans should be giving themselves a pat on the back.
