Im personally NOT religious, but im just curious.

Most religions preach love.. care... tenderness.. responsibility... Yet those same people.... most... have no problem ripping their teeth into the flesh of previously....... tortured and inhumanely killed animals.

Honestly... do you guys find any kind of problem....mentally... with devouring meat from what i suspect you believe is gods creatures? What is the rationality on it?

most popular religions were designed to make the writers of the religion look good.... i.e. some straight men thousands of years ago writing a book to justify male dominance, condemn homosexuality, and make it look like the wars they started were planned by god

well i think most religions teach that beasts are here for us to use. and if they dont say that then it says respect ALL life. so its either one extreme or the other. and i findreligion a giant crutch for those too mentally weak to survive on their own without pledging their life to something greater

Tortured? No. They were slaughtered.

I'm not religions and I eat whatever the fuck I want, but the rationality is that god gave us animals to sustain human life. God made us the master of beasts.

Using that logic, no one will be able to eat because according to the Bible, God made everything...which includes plants as well

I think YOU don't know what you're talking about. I doubt you've ever been to a slaughterhouse. You need to meet your meat.

Just a quick note from the non religoous. I understand your position, but I really don;t want to hear it. May sound rude, but again, I know where your coming from, I have the same ideas mostly. I want to hear from the religious.

Im going to assume god does exist and the bible is right for the sake of argument now.

God gave the animals to us to provide for us.

But lets say those animals are not being handled with care.... is it okay to mistreat them??

Tortured? No. They were slaughtered.

If you honestly look at how many of the factory farms treat animals it will make you vomit in your mouth a bit.

Using that logic, no one will be able to eat because according to the Bible, God made everything...which includes plants as well

Last i checked plants dont feel much pain.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.

I think your making up excuses and dodging a question that you dont want to answer. I know what I am talking about....

If you honestly want to deny the fact that many large factory farms mistreat animals, if you want to IGNORE the video and pictures and undercover investigations, thats nice for your own little world.

It is not for mine.

Please get out of the topic if you want to dictate what I know and ignore the general idea.

well in my religon God made the animals for man and women's enjoyment more or less

My definition of enjoyment would be getting a puppy to get rid of stress. Maybe a horse to gently ride. But speaking of the injustices done to animals in factory farms-was that gods idea?

So my thoughts 'dictate' what you 'know'? Would I be wrong to think that you are a militant vegetarian? And ignore the general idea? What does that mean?

Your OP didn't say "many" places mistreat animals, in fact, you didn't say "many" or "mistreat" at all. You said the meat we eat is from "tortured and inhumanely killed animals". Make up your mind.

My own little world? How big is yours?

If you are going to direct your question towards religious people you should base your argument upon religious scripture, not vague conjecture and emotional appeals.
