Alright I used to use mIRC quite often. Never had problems with it. I had mostly legit music too because I was trying to build my old music collection back up. I had it all saved on an external which sadly broke and is unrepairable. I have been using Itunes which as we know is a huge money sucker, but almost all my old music was legit so I want to result back to mIRC. Is mIRC safe as for viruses? When I used to use it I never got one and I was very careful about my downloads. I had reliable people I would download from. Is mIRC very safe because I do not want to clog up my brand new PC.

mIRC is just an IRC client. It's perfectly safe.

I've never used it to download music but as long as you download .mp3's (and you make sure that's the extension; not .exe or .bat) then you won't get any viruses.

You can download a dynamic virus scanner to be even safer. Avast scans every file that you download to your computer and stops you from opening viruses.

I used to use Avast back in the day. There is no way to attach a virus to an MP3 is there?
