I'm taking a guitar class at Wayne State University and they have two classes. Classical Guitar and Jazz Guitar. I want to play in a metalcore band. I want to know which class is easier or recommended for me to take.
P.S. I want to be a lead guitarist.

Jazz. Classical is more pretty-picking. Not so great if you want to be a lead guitarist in a metalcore band.

Classical guitar is all about being seated formally and using finger picking. Go for jazz.

Classical, I don't know much about Jazz, except about Jazz Scales. I think you'd learn more from Classical.
