This is exactly what I'm talking about. Why do we need to bring the fact I'm white into the conversation over and over again? Wasn't the big picture supposed to be where discrimination wasn't happening over race, yet you are taking ethnicity as a factor in judging my opinions.

2. Funny thing is white people make up around 70% of rap record sales.  However, we don't ever hear people saying that rap music is the cause of all the ills of the white community, even though they listen to rap music in greater numbers

Black people can choose to shake their booties and buy expensive jewellery and be all gangster and whatever.

Black people have lots of choices nowadays, the very same choices presented to white people of equal wealth and intelligence and such.

MLK wouldn't give two fucks that some black people don't choose to become "something". He'd just be happy that  lots blacks and whites get along, and that black people don't suffer hugely purely because of their race.

But I'm actually curious about your black friends you mentioned, though.  I have white friends.  An intelligent few with their own views on politics, religion and race.  And they understand not to speak too much on a race issue concerning blacks like you have.  They understand it's not their place.

There was an episode on The Boondocks titled Return of the King. In which Martin Luther King Jr. awakes from a 32 year coma into present day America. Interestingly enough, throughout the entire episode MLK Jr. seems to struggle with a complete disgust he has with the wild, ignorant behavior and inane accomplishments (like the creation of BET) of his people. Very hilarious episode with strong points that were made.

TheLastMagister, although you mean well it's inappropriate for you to speak of such points about the black community. The same as it would be for me, an African-American, to point out the flaws of the white community. I'm not part of the white community, you're not a part of the black community. Simply put, it's a racial issue that should strictly be discussed among blacks.
