my parents haven't slept in the same bed for like 6yrs. and my dad is extremely homophobic. he got so pissed off i called him a queen when i said he was being a "drama queen", he had to tell me 4 times not to call him a woman. this one of his many out-dated machotistic mannerism.

and i'm watching dr. phil right now and next week the topic is about a father who is now a woman.

uummm....... can someone give me a second opinion on this theory i'm inferring?

Is your dad gay? Maybe, but some homophobes are really just intolerant shitheads. He might be insecure about his masculinity, maybe he was called gay a lot growing up or was sexually assaulted or raped by somebody as a child.

But I don't think you can know for sure that he's gay. You shouldn't treat him any differently based on his orientation, but the man needs help if he can't sleep in the same bed with his wife and gets pissed at his kids.

If this is instinct then you probably wouldn't be surprised if that were to really happen. But some time along the way (this is a maybe) if a son found out that his father were gay and the entire time the son was only making assumptions/observations then it might cause some sort of riff that would  have to be delt with

And I know a lot of people say homophobes are actually guys who are secretly gay, but that's not always the case.  He could be homophobic because your grandparents brought him up that way, and that's why he gets mad when you call him gay.  Orrr he's just afraid of gays because homosexuality is, to many men, a threat to their own masculinity.  Homosexuality scares them.
