It's years since I did PHP, but there's a really good one which colour codes different formulas and has a brilliant layout.

Notepad++ as others have said, use it here and my school have it installed too, its great for programming in any language.

I use to use Crimson Editor before that.

Quanta+ , unfortunately, its for Linux only.

Aptana Studio also seems pretty good, though the syntax highlighting isn't quite as good.
