i saw the movie a few months ago and assuming its relevant to the book you could definitely talk about the importance of family and the past.

i hated that book with a burning passion.
But I was stuck in the Atlanta airport during a storm for like 7 hours, and that's the only book i had with me, so I read it.

That was a little over two years ago tho, so I don't really remember the whole thing.
I agree, you should write something about the importance of family, and sharing, and the past.
But also something about how seeing horrible things can affect you greatly, even years afterward. Talk about how it affects the will to live, and how not having people to confide in can cause you to do rash things.

I've seen the movie, so very good, and the book is on the top of my list to buy.

What exactly is your prompt and do you have any idea whatsoever on what you'd like to relay in your paper?
Are there any length or word requirements? What class is it for?

the language is the most obvious feature to begin talking about. what's the effect of having a narrator whose first language isn't english? does it create humour? pathos?
