lol no wonder!!! On my AT&T Motorola cell phone, I saw an option that said NETWORK, then showed a host of other cell phone providers. I was wondering why that was, but now I think I understand. 
well, AT&T is a GSM cellular provider. there's also other GSM cell providers. in a way, it's relevant, but not really. you can use an unlocked GSM phone with any carrier, but, if you're just gonna buy a replacement phone, make sure it's unlocked, or it's specific to your carrier.
