On the same token then can my girlfriend and I use abortion as birth control and then after like eight or nine abortions we'll just decide to have a real kid (then start aborting again).

The pill has disadvantages and if we just let her carry a child for about 6 or 7 months, and then abort, it gives us big windows of no need for birth control of any kind.

The pill's disadvantages are nothing compared to the disadvantages of pregnancy, and with easy and free-- though less effective-- birth control methods like pulling out and Fertility Awareness, I doubt most women would be up for absolutely NO contraception. And after 3 abortions, one's health is at risk.

But since this is a hypothetical, I wouldn't call it "right," but I wouldn't suggest imposing a limit on abortion.

This actually happened to my mother. She has gone through 10 pregnancies, two of which were ectopic and caused her to never have children.

Edit: She never had one successful pregnancy. I was adopted.

that would be depressing and i dont think i would even try to have a child... as much as i would want one the pain and sadness i would feel after a miscarriage would be horrible and if i knew there was a 90% chance it would happen i would feel so responsible for the death of my unborn child

Something is very very very wrong . . . . May God have mercy on us for being so inherently ~toot~

Well, since the topic is hot, I might add that if we are only considering the natural means of reproduction, then the should be little or no difference in the morality of the decision as compared to the social norm, since it is a requirement to survive, no matter how low the chance, it has to be done, or we will die out. Any concious attempt cut off of that chance to survive will be considered the taking of potential life but . .

If other methods exist, then theres no stopping mass cloning an army of the human race.

Someone probably already posted this, but I'm sorry, I'm not gonna read all four pages :p

Abortion is taking the potential for life from a fetus. Getting pregnant is giving it the potential.

So those eight or nine babies that were miscarriaged wouldn't even have the potential for life if the woman was not allowed to get pregnant. In my book, it's better to give ten babies the potential for life and only have one make it, than to give 0 babies the potential for life.
