What about old people and veterans who can't work due to injuries from protecting YOUR country? People who've given their whole lifetimes in service to your country and you want to let them die in the street? And you right-wingers call yourself patriots? You're fucking kidding me you selfish pig.

If you're using the word and to co-join old people with veterans who can't work due to injuries then I'll have to separate the two terms. If you are meaning old veterans and non old veterans who can't work due to injuries than we have no problem. No one said anything about veterans - their injuries should be afforded to by their employer and currently are covered by support as terms (and legal ones at that) of their employment. Of course no one ever in this thread has said that they shouldn't be covered yet you assumed our position which you then went on to attack. Thats called a strawman where you make up a position, attach it to your opponent and then attack the position they never claimed to hold. Its a logical fallacy and a sign of poor argumentative skill and rigor. Now back to the veterans (me being a veteran btw) who can't work due to injuries. The reason some of them are receiving poor care currently is because that care is being handled by government who since it has no need for these people they try to not treat them. This is the same government you to treat others. If they won't even treat their former employees well why do you think that they will treat others well? If anything the relatively recent scandals involving veteran hospitals is evidence that government should never be involved in providing healthcare because it has proven itself multiple times incapable of doing so.
Don't be condescending, I know what straw man is. This isn't one, the OP said that "society with NO welfare is ideal", I took "NO welfare" to mean "no welfare for anyone, including veterans". I think anyone else would have made the same conclusion. Obviously if the government is providing poor healthcare, that is a problem, but it doesn't mean they should stop providing. If a kid doesn't does his homework badly in school, you don't say "OK, you can't do this well, don't do it at all", you make him do it better.
