exactly. today at work told me that i have to learn spanish. i said, no, i learned german in school. why learn spanish. even my bf and my friend who is a legal immigrant from mexico think that american is what should be what is spoken in the public in america. at home, you can use the language of your choice. but dont come to my country and expect ME to learn your language. now, if i was going to mexico to live, i would learn spanish because that is the customary thing to do.

yea but you guys should get with the times. the spanish population in this country is the 2nd largest compared to the white population. if children learned how to speak spanish then they will have many more job oppourtunitues

You do know what bilingual means? And if every single person in the U.S. spoke English it would still make the most sense to learn Spanish.

The way I view it, Obama just wants the American youth to be more opened to other cultures and languages. There is nothing wrong with being bilingual.
