The  kids at Gloucester High School are beyond stupid and selfish. They WANT to get pregnant for the attention and the 'in' group feeling.

They are being selfish and thinking of nobody but themselves. They are not thinking of the fathers who might be going to jail for statutory rape, or they responsibility they have now. They have to help raise and support this child. Which could ruin their life. This could put a bad mark on their record and hold them back from furthering their lives. Plus, now those kids are relying on their parents to financial support their kids. AND, what the hell was that one girl thinking about getting pregnant by some homeless guy she doesn't even know.

I just don't understand how kids can be do god damn stupid.

I'm 20 and I do want a baby. I admit it openly. The thing that makes it look good with me is that I am not a teenager anymore, and I've been in a solid relationship for 6 straight years. I'm out of high school, and almost done my university stuff.

I'm not getting pregnant cause we have at least another year until we finished college/university. AND, we're going to buy a house in another 2 years, so, we're being smart about.

But, why can't these kids figure it out. Are they just that stupid. Can they not think things through. Like, a baby is something special and should be raised in a stable environment. Not with some kid throwing it around saying "I have a kid, I have a kid." Which has a full diaper and an empty stomach. The grandparents trying to find the extra money to buy formula, and the kid dropping out before graduating to find a job.

It's just not right.

What do you think brought these kids to such stupidity?

a) Juno was just a movie.  That was it.  Every time some girl gets pregnant "Juno! Juno! That darn Canadian!"

b) Those girls want to feel loved, and they think that the only solution to get that type of love is to have a kid.

See I think people are blaming it on that movie to much too. But, movies do influence kids. So. Who knows.

The "in" crowd at schools are the ones who are pregnant?
Pshh.. I beg to differ. I don't think movies influence anything. They're usually made up situations.

QFT.

I've talked to so many girls who want babies underage, it's almost always because they want to feel loved. They think that having a baby will

1) Gain or keep their relationship solid.
2) Get them an instant group of friends (they lacked before). Have a baby and suddenly you have tons of other "teen mum" friends.
3) Get them attention.
4) Give them some sort of love they don't feel they're getting from their parents.

Now the girls from the high school were I think just seeking attention BUT for 17 of them to want babies they have no idea what they are in for. The show "The Baby Borrowers" is a show for them to watch but I mean hey whats done is done so the girls that ARE pregnant with have to deal with school, pregnancy, birth, and most likely single parenthood

Yes, definitely single parenthood with most of the fathers going away for rape, and the homeless guy has no chance in hell being able to help support the girl he got pregnant. They were so stupid.
