I didn't know where else to put this, so I decided to throw this here.

But basically.. I have gotten really heavily into astrology lately. It started with my own chart, and reading about myself. Then I got curious, and started reading my friends and familys charts, and even the girl I currently fancy, which has actually helped me a lot with developing a relationship with her.. but anyway. Point is, I've taken this stuff pretty seriously. I actually been starting to wonder if I can make a profit from this stuff. However, I feel like because the only charts ive read were people I already knew, that my demonstrations were slightly biased. So basically, I want to read a strangers chart. Completely free, a fully detailed accurate reading, to the best of my ability, and I want you to tell me how accurate everything is. This is going to take a little work on your part, because I would like you to explain exactly what is a hit or miss, and why. But I want to try this out, if I'm going to even attempt to make money from this, I want to know how good I am.

So any volunteers? ONLY reply if you know your date of birth, month/day/year and BIRTH LOCATION, and EXACT TIME hour:minute you were born. Message it to me if you want.

The person who I feel is the best canidate, with the correct criteria who writes me the fastest will get the reading.

Astrology is not science, so it can be experimented. It is all hocus-pocus and smoked glass, nothing actually real. But if you want to exploit idiots for their money, then good luck.

Micus, are you willingly to write me back after the reading. Just let me know what was accurate and what isnt. That's all I ask. I don't want to write this big huge thing and then never hear from you..

Yes.

I don't put TOO much faith in it, but I'd say I'm fairly well versed... more than most people I know hahaha. I look at it as a hobby.

I'll be able to double check your shit haha so make sure you know what you're talkin about

Alright perfect.

I might be giving out more readings after Micus too. Because this wouldn't be an EXPERIMENT without more controlled tests. But you will deffinately be first. I'll try and have it finished within a couple hours.

Wouldn't confirmation bias be an issue here, considering Micus is a fan of astrology?

Please don't think I'm trying to jump on you and pour out piles about how astrology isn't true and everything. Personally, I think it's bullshit, but if you believe, then I respect that.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask if you are aware of the technique of which I can't remember the name (yeah, that helps). The theory is that people read horoscopes/similar things and then pick out the bits that are accurate and forget about the bits that aren't - rather like compulsive gamblers only remembering the times they win and forgetting that for every one of those times, there's hundreds of times they lost. This can make readings seem very accurate when in fact they aren't. I remember reading of a study where about 1000 people were all given the same horoscope after submitting charts and stuff (they all thought it was specific for them) and then they asked them how accurate it was and pretty much all of them thought it was accurate because many people share the same personality traits.

The nearest thing to it that I can remember a name for is cold reading.

Don't worry, I definitely qualify as a skeptic.

If I'm getting one too (yay! I love talking about myself) I was born on 09/29/1991 at 06:06 AM at the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion, Edinburgh.

That's very true, and I have thought about that a lot. But horoscopes are a lot different than chart readings. They are essentially you're own fingerprint of your personality. Everyone's chart is different, and as far as my research goes, it has pretty damn near accurate. You must also take into account that outside influences can effect your life. Talk to a professional astrologer, and they will tell you that your friends (their signs) can effect your personality as well. Astrology takes note of that. Your parents sun signs can also have a lot to do with your up bringing, but if you dive deep enough into it, you can pretty much predict anything.

I'm not here to persuade anyone or make anyone believe. I like the fact that you're a skeptic, would you be willing to have your chart read?
