Not at all, that's just one sub-genre of anime. The funny semi-dramatic high school girly dating kind. The best ones, well my favorite, are the adventure/action/horror ones. Wolf's Rain, Blue Gender, Ergo Proxy, Hellsing And of course Dragonball Z is one of my tops. Anime is just another type of art designed to explain a story just like music, poetry, movies, books etc, and like anything else, some of the art styles are less creative than others, such as the big eyed annoying ones, and some are amazingly detailed and deep.

That'd sort of be like me only watching one channel on TV and declaring every show on television to be garbage. Thank you come again.
lol if he's basing it off the American TV, then most of the animes shown there aren't that good, lol!

it isn't degrading at all. it's just a term for anime lovers. not good not bad. and the words nerd or geek and such aren't degrading either. when people call me those. i just smile and thank them. it's an honor doing business.
