I've been twice and to the same place (Icmeler) I loved it although the heat was unbearable! Icmeler is close to Marmaris and I believe Rhodes isn't too far from there, we went for a days trip there.

it's got lots of nice old things to look at, like in athens. and nice countryside outside ankara.

also, I think it has a bit more middle-eastern culture than istanbul, since it's not in europe. I like seeing different cultures.
