i'm gonna get cremated. I'm gonna have the flames jump up in time to some dramatic music and everything. My funeral is going to be a blast.

People like being able to visit a place where a bit of someone they love still exists. Personally I'm more inclined for cremation but I can understand why people would prefere a burial.

cos most people hate accepting death and burial means theyre 'still there' to 'talk to' or whatever. if theyre burnt theyre absolutely definitely no-two-ways-about-it dead. cremation is too final for some people

Cremation is against many people's religions. That is why we bury people. It has nothing to do with government, as someone said.

I was reading an article in National Geographics about the 'green burial movement' where people are buried in biodegradable coffins made from recycled stuff and the bodies aren't embalmed, which means eventually the grave sites can be recycled. GPS devices record location, if anyone wants to go see them. I think I'll do that if I can't afford being sent to the sun.

Some people like to visit the graves so fair enough with having the stone... But sometimes they don't even visit the stone but they get one anyway !?! thats what i don't see the point in :S Just scatter the ashes...:/
