Ok so I was at my therapy group (this happened last year) and there was this kid that I was talking to and he mentioned being Mexican, so I said oh a beaner. Well he got extremely pissed at me, first of all as fucking stupid as this makes me sound I didn't know that was offensive, I mean I heard my friend Nikki call her friend Kim that who is Mexican and it never bugged Kim, so I didn't think anything of it. So then he started calling me a bitch. Well after the therapy group I went and aplogized and told him that I didn't mean to hurt him in anyway, I had no clue that he would get hurt by that. And he said something like Bull shit bitch. And earlier like a couple of days ago we actually ran into each other and he was telling his friends how I'm a racist white bitch. Well I know I was stupid for not thinking before I spoke, I just didn't know I shouldn't have assumed. And I felt so bad. I still do, he was calling me stupid and whatnot. Am I a total horrible person?

It can be offensive to people. These days you have to be "politically correct" all the time and I know that can definitely be difficult for some people. I guess it's  like calling a black person a "Niger" or a white person "Gringo" or a Mexican a "Beaner"...

Honestly though....If you apologized to him and really meant it, you shouldn't worry about it.

And the way he acted towards you (with his friends) is extremely immature after you said sorry; so I think you should just learn from this and forget this dude.

Don't feel so bad about it! I mean a lot of people make always tend to make some kind of racial mistake. A lot of people try to judge me and think that I speak spanish er sumthin becuz I don't talk a lot er they try to think that I'm Phillipino er Asian er Puerto Rican becuz of skin bein a little light brown than the usual black person when I'm really just black and part Indian. So don't feel sorry for yourself for the mistakes you may make later on in life! Always remember: EVERYBODY MAKE MISTAKES SOMETIMES! Don't life get ya down.....but if I were you I would of punched his ass in the face for callin you a bitch!! That what he said to wasn't neccessary at all. It's not like you called him a "wet back" er anything.
