Thank you e-mails are an implicit part of the interview process. Its a nice gesture but has zero baring on the ultimate decision. If they didn't hire you, most likely you fucking sucked ass or not intelligent enough: most likely both. I've attended four interviews and I've never been turned down, three that I worked for.

Intelligent? They hardly asked me anything that required me to be "intelligent enough". It was around a 10 min interview.
