my gh 2 game for my ps2 is messed up. the ps2 will detect the disk and everything but whe it goes to start playing all it does is show playstation 2 and the screen goes black. what could be wrong with it?

something could be wrong with the disk..... or maybe you need to get your ps2 cleaned out on the inside or go buy one of those cleaning disk from best buy..walmart...or some place like that..but those are like 20.00

Does it do this for other games? If not, the game is messed up. If it does, it's your PS. Ask on GameFAQ or some gamer site, they seem to know their consoles from what I've seen?
