I am sure not enough.  Minimum wage and even a few dollars more isn't a living wage.  A person would have to work so much and just have time to eat and sleep when not working with all the hours they would need to work to make enough money.

It's like slavery to be available all but 5 hours of a 24 hour day.  People have other things to do in life that are important too, relationships with family and friends, some time to yourself, etc.

Meh, it just depends on the job.. some do have ridiculous hours. For example.. i'm a chef at a hotel and on many occasions I have done a straight shift from 6:45am-midnight with a 30min break inbetween. Its just the nature of some jobs.. you shouldn't look at it as slavery..but rather CHA CHING $$$$ more money!

That's a horrible job with all the long hours too.  There are things to do in life than work all the time.  What's the use of money if you just make it to have food and be able to have a place to sleep.

i have to be available from 4:30 am until 12:30 am... i only have 4 hours when they really cant schedule me. and i'm only 16.

That's practically slavery.  

This is another reason why I am for socialism.  People need time off and there is joblessness because they want people to be available almost all the time and don't hire people to handle some of that time.  It's horrible.
