i wanna get a perm, because my hair is like pin straight and almost impossible to curl. [the only way i can get it curly, is by taking a shower at night, putting it into two buns, leave it like that all night, and then in the AM put like an ass load of curling gel in my hair until its stiff] i talked to my mom about this, and she said that if i got a perm, it would get all screwy cuz of our water. we have water from the well, and i live in NH .. is this true? or does she not know what she's talking about? [too see how fucking straight my hair is look at my pics, its pretty much that straight except for my right side of my hair that i have to straighten cuz my layer curls out]

When I was about 8 or 9, I decided that I wanted curls. I kept telling the women working on my hair that that's what I wanted but they gave me a perm and it made me look like a poodle...
The second time I tried for something more tame, I got the same damn poof...and a really burnt up neck. That shit stinks, too.
I didn't like that the poof was always there and that the only way to get rid of it was to work on it. I missed my hair being straight, it was easier to manage.
And you know what? I never did get those curls, they never told me what to do...like an 8 year old knows how to get her hair to behave.

i got a perm that lasted practically a whole school year and it won't get screwed up from well water. I have well water and it didn't affect my hair at all
