They're researching treatments and other possible ways of 'curing' it. Yes I do, though I don't like giving money to any cancer or HIV/AIDS 'curing' initiatives. Quite hesitant about it actually.

As i said before, theres a ridiculous amount of research scientists employed by these foundations, thats alot of jobs.

Maybe theres a greedy bastard holding it back from the rest of the world :/

Money is not the problem. Putting money into it does nothing. There're scientific limitations and the number of scientists they have working on it counts far more.
