There's this girl I kind of got to know towards the end of the school year. I took her out to coffee once, though it wasn't an explicit date. We're going to be helping during freshman orientation and we're in the same group, so we're going to be spending quite a bit of time together during the first week of school. Should I email her during the summer, and keep up a steady correspondence until we get back? Or should I remain aloof until we actually set foot on campus?

Do not EMAIL her! That's weird as shit. Facebook or aim is perfectly legit, but emailing someone is strange if its just asking them what's up. If you want it to be private facebook message them, but don't email them. Calling them would be fine too, but you better have something to talk about. It'll get awkward real quick if you're just like "hey what's up?"
