imo aspergers is mostly a stupid excuse for poor social skills, probably for a variety of situational reasons that the stupid parents dont want to admit
I disagree entirely. Sure, in it's lighter stages, it's nothing more than more poor judgement. 'Aspies' typically just learn to cope. But I've seen it when it's very real. My mummy used to work at a college for hardcore aspies. They didn't understand people at all, often ending up being kicked out of school or bullied beyond belief. Because of it's subtleness even some 'normal' aspies are subject to ridicule and not diagnosed, leading to self harm, or suicide, because other people say it's cool, and they're easily lead. So no. It's not a joke, and it's not an excuse.

same thing happened to me, and I improved when I got older because I tried at it. but it was really hard. There's no need to be diagnosed, makes no difference if its 'official' or some shit. terrible social skills can bring the same thing you said, and aren't a joke, because they've usually come about for familial reasons. by excuse i meant an excuse by the parents to avoid blame for fucking their kid up
