I'm trying to cut out an image in photshop so I can place on on a website. The only problem is whenever I try cutting it out using the lasso tool it has jagged edges and looks bad.

Anyone know a better way?

Can't you change the lasso tool settings so it's not as hard ?

Are you making a transparent background?

I dont know if you will be able to follow this but ill lay it out for you. Please dont ask me to elaborate its hard stuff and you should look up a tutorial.

After you cut it all out, select the magic wand tool, select the background,

right click, select inverse

Refine edge (set it the way you like it) click OK

Layers, new via cut

delete the backgroud layer

save for web and devices , make it a JPG

Hope that helps if its too far over your head you have a lot of keywords to plug into google now, adobe also has tutorials on it.

My post above is the best way to do it for saving for your webpage. Also make sure you save it to the size you will display it as, or it gets jagged again.

The pen tool is the best.

Although its really just a preference, the pen tool undoubtedly gives better results.
