Hi,

I'm getting the following error every time I try to open iTunes:

"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs & DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

Reinstalling / uninstalling and installing iTunes with rebooting doesn't help.  I've followed the advice of various help articles such as [url]http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2615]this, but it doesn't help.

Can anyone who has experienced this problem / knows how to help let me know of a way to stop this popping up every time?

(I'm running Windows 7 RC (64 bit), although that shouldn't matter too much - iTunes was working fine a couple of days ago.)

One fix that comes to my mind would be uninstall iTunes once again and then install the 32 bit version... or if you were running the 32 bit version, try installing the 64 bit one.

The two versions will use different registry entries, and therefor you would think this problem would be fixed.

Also be sure to unsinstall both iTunes and then Quicktime, as well Apple Updater and other apple products .then install iTunes.

Just installing iTunes will not fix these problems. Uninstalling all apple software should help compared to just uninstalling iTunes.

@superjoint420: I did that already, try reading the original post.

@DJ Josh: I'm currently using the 64-bit iTunes installer, Apple doesn't recommend I use the 32-bit one.  I tried uninstalling all the Apple products (including the software updater and the mobile device support), but to no avail.  I also ran a registry cleaner, which didn't help.

What about reinstalling the drivers for your CD/DVD hardware?
