My dad keeps complaining he can't put his DVD movie on his iPod. Can someone give me the quickest and free way to get him to shut up so he doesn't spend another $400 just on getting movies he already owns in the mp4 format? I don't know how iTunes works, but I can understand how to do something.

It's ripping the DVD, where it could get difficult. Converting it won't be much effort really.
