Wikipedia's good when one wants to get a quick introduction to a topic. If a topic interests me enough I usually read the discussion page and look at the sources the page cites. I would never use wikipedia as a source on an essay, or anything of the sort.

I think Wikipedia in a wonderful concept but I think they should be much stricter about who they let write or revise articles. My dad has written articles which were latter modified to include totally incorrect information. I don't think an article should be revised unless the original author is consulted and given an opportunity to challenge the revisions. Furthermore, anyone who writes or edits should have credentials showing that they are competent to do so.

If I was to use it to write a paper, I would never quote it word for word and then assume it's the truth. If there's listed resources below, I try to use them. Otherwise, I use Wikipedia as a starting point in research papers and such, not as a source, itself.
