say i delete all the songs from my computer, download a few new ones.. and click on sync, will it delete all the ones on my ipod and put the new ones there?

However, I deleted some music from my computer, but not my iTunes program and they're still on my iPod

Only if you remove the songs from iTunes as well. If it remains in iTunes (even if the file is deleted) the songs won't be removed from your iPod.

If you set your iPod to sync automatically and the music is no longer on your computer/iTunes, then it will delete them off your iPod as well. My cousin made that mistake.

If you manually put the music on, then everything should be fine.

WRONG!!!

All that will happen is a little box will pop up saying that File XYZ could not be located and cannot be synced and it will list the file(s) and you click okay. Since the file is still in your library it won't remove it from your ipod.
