I dunno what to do about your boyfriend :/ Um, tell the people you see often that you're trying to quit smoking and ask for their support - I've never been a smoker but it seems to me like it would be harder to go back on your decision if you've told everyone you're doing it and stuff. And tell yourself, by writing a note and sticking it to your wall or something - sounds silly but can sometimes help with staying firm to something. Talking to a doctor sounds like a good idea.
Also, aren't there websites about quitting smoking? Have you checked out anything like that?
I wonder if any of the tips for quitting self-harm would help with smoking - they're often methods for distraction or replacing the desire. Maybe if you do something else each time you get a craving, you can train yourself a bit.
