Heroin isn't all that bad if you're smoking the pure shit, you just have to be careful and pace yourself. And if you overdose, you just go to sleep. Now, a crack cocaine or crystal meth overdose is scary because you're awake the whole time and stimulant addiction tends to be much more psychological than addiction to downers.
The other day, my friend brought me two DVD players which I later pawned in exchange for $50 worth of crack cocaine. That's how desperate I've seen crack addicts get.
