What's wrong with my fish?

Some have small white spots on their fins (tiny, very tiny spots, and only on the fins) and I've dosed the aquarium for ich. It doesn't seem to be working.

Also, my goldfish's tail is bright red and ragged at the edges. It's only the goldfish though, and she's eating fine and everything.

Any help would be appreciated.

Fin rot.

That's what I was thinking as well... :S

What kind of fish do you have and what kind of tank, filtration, food, etc do you use?

3x1x1.5ft tank
Internal bio-sponge filter with activated carbon. I don't know what it's called.
Mix of Hikari micro-wafers and Nutrafin Max sinking tablets (for the bottom feeders and inverts)

I have angelfish, tetras, danios, platies, goldfish (bad idea, I know. They're moving out during the next couple of weeks, provided my tank is disease-free), a cory, and some yabbies.

According to the site I provided, in order to save your fish, you need to use Tetracycline and Oxytetracycline in the food for about a week and a half (they said 10 days).

If you talk to pet store or fish place, they may be able to help you with finding it. Personally, I would get it as soon as possible so that you can start treating them for it.

I had that issue with a beta fish and a frog... needless to say, they didn't make it because I originally thought it was Ich as well and didn't realize it until it was too late.

Sounds like fin rot or some bacteria infection.  I recommend cleaning the gravel and changing the water.  Then adding medicine for fin rot.  Should fix the problem.

Clean EVERYTHING. Trust me on this one. And that's including the net and anything you use for the fish as well.

I've done a 25% water change today. Tried to do a gravel clean-up too, but everytime I even try the water just goes murky.

I really should tell the rest of the household to give the fish less food.

Come to think of it... I would use the tetracycline stuff (both of them anyway) until all your fish have improved. But to be on the safe side, talk to the pet store about it as well and see what they say. They may be able to help you out more. That is if you trust them...

I do and I don't.

I doubt they have it anyway.

You never know though... it's more common than you think.

The primary use for tetracycline seems to be for human health reasons.

I can't find a single fish food that includes it.
