to tell her that no matter what happens I will always be her sister and love her....  Just wanted to share.... BTW, promise rings aren't always for couples....in my case, they are to symbolize the pure love between sisters. Here is my ring (My sister is currently wearing hers and they are both the same style, so I only need to show one):

It has more meaning when I give her something to remind her....I told her that even when we are mad at each other, we still love one another and the ring is there to show that...My older sister never gave me anything special, and this ring is also to remind me of a vow to myself: to be a better older sister than my older sister ever was.
