I thought these things were toast.  They're still shitty, covered in little pits and shit, but you can only polish a turd so much. Mother's Powerball w/ their Mag & Aluminum polish got these bitches shining.  Anyhoo, here are some pictures.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I know I did a pretty shitty job, but it's 30 degrees outside and by the time I was done with this wheel, I couldn't feel my fingers or toes.

Here's a few last pictures, just to show off.

Rear wheel polished.  Front not.

Hotness.  Had to start snowing when I was taking pictures.

The other 2 wheels I polished.

So you followed my advice about the powerball.

Nice! There's room for improvement though ;)

When you're done, maybe think about applying a coat of wax.

I would still be outside finishing the wheels and washing the entire thing if it wasn't 30 degrees, snowing, and I could feel my fingers.

BTW notice how the powerball is black from all the shit on the wheels.

If you want a product that can make the black hazy plastic fender  trim and other plastic trim on the outside look better..

Try this stuff.

Yep, I know all about this stuff.

They just didn't have it at the store I bought the ball at.

My autobody instructor told me the shit wears off after a week or two.

It looked cold, that's why I said there's room for improvement :P

I cleaned the impala yesterday in 36* weather. Inside and out. I was ffffucking cold after but it was worth it.

BTW, The black is just oxidation. It should wash out of the powerball pretty easily.

The wheels are raw aluminum, and to prevent them from oxidizing over time, it's good to polish them every 1-3 months.

If you use wheel cleaner with these after you polish them, be careful and make sure that you use stuff that will *NOT* stain aluminum.. also, some tire cleaners can drip down onto and stain the wheels - you'll want to avoid wesley's bleche white at all costs if you clean your letters and sidewalls.

Do you clean the sidewalls?

It does.. but it doesn't take much to go a looong way. I apply it once a month with the impala to keep the trim nice and dark.

There is some stuff I haven't used yet but I've heard great response about it..it's called "forever black"
