Im getting surgery to get my wisdom teeth taken out on friday because they have been really bothering me. they have also really messed up my bottom teeth. they use to be realllyyyy straight and now i have to get braces cuz my wisdom teeth moved them so much :(

Im really nervous. what should expect right when i wake up from the surgery and also within the few days after?
How long should it take to heal?
and is there any tricks to making it feel better?

Sorry i know the surgeon could answer all these questions but i havent even met them yet and im not even gonna see them until the day of the surgery.

You have nothing to worry about , when i had it the only things i remember them doing is putting the IV in and then waking up about an hr later in the recovery room thing. they had me on some pretty good pain killers so it wasnt a big deal,
As far as after just take your pain killers and what ever meds they give you ( i had pain killers and anti swelling pills as well). As far as healing time that depends on case to case, i mean i was out playing soccer later that night (dumb idea) and was back to eating normal foods (with caution) in 4 days. and i would say about 3 weeks all the incisions had completely closed up . There are a few tricks like using ice bags on your cheeks to help keep the swelling down, but the biggest bit of advice is just to follow the Drs orders and you should be all right, if there is anything you wanna know just PM me. best of luck

you'll be extremely numb in your mouth when you wake up..
careful, drinking water is really hard to do when you can't control half your face haha.
umm... eat something cold an hour after (that's when you'll be pretty sore, and you're allowed to eat)...
careful on the meds they give you, no driving, etc. etc.
i was back out on the farm 2 days after i had mine out, so don't worry too much! :]
